General description

  • Develop, design and review infrastructure solutions and assess new technologies for investment. Articulate the transition from current to future architectural state in consideration of the future needs of the business, security policies and requirements, and striking an optimal balance between standardization, customization, innovation, costs and risk management.
  • Communication, negotiation and influencing skills at different levels, particularly with DSM Experts, Bid Managers, Sales Consultants, Enterprise Architects and Production, locally and internationally within Deutsche Telekom, customers and suppliers.

 

 

Accountabilities

  • Design, development and review of ICT solutions that require the integration of multiple technologies, and the interrelationships of multiple systems serving diverse customers and provide technical advice and counsel to IT project teams working on architectural issues to ensure alignment.
  • Translate clients’ business needs and strategy to functional and technical system solutions, in line with clients’ requirements and TS guidelines, in a way that realizes customer satisfaction and/ or contributes to TS profitability. *Systems: server, network, storage, backup, datacenter, middleware, OS (related components).
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with the customer, while fostering strong internal relationships with Production and Sales.
  • Present chosen solution(s) with confidence and influence to customers.
  • Costing of specific solutions for the customer account, in context of Deutsche Telekom portfolio, standards and principles.
  • Plan work activities over medium and long term to support strategic activities and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the implementation of designed ICT solutions; interact with the client on all levels in relation to the solution to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coach team members and coordinate execution and delivery, to ensure efficient and effective realization of business goals
  • Review bids and proposals of ICT solutions on e.g. functional and technical feasibility, impact and costs, advice on alternatives and optimize the functional and technical aspects of bids and proposals, in a way that enables TS to decide on go/no go for bids/ proposals and to contribute to winning of best-fit and profitable bids and solutions.
  • Share and acquire knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other departments.
  • Participation in International projects
  • Manage the team of up to 5 people directly and up to 10 engineers indirectly (functional leadership).

 

Requirements

  • Master´s degree
  • minimum 6 years experience
  • ICT Architecture
  • Broad level of knowledge across enterprise ICT technologies, ideally will have depth of experience in one or more specialist enterprise technologies
  • In depth knowledge of the T-Systems Portfolio
  • Is able to present complex ideas, concepts and technical solutions to high level non-technical audiences.
  • Solution Architecture or engineering experience for minimum of 3 years.
  • Applies knowledge and skills to deal with complex problems, extending and coordinating work that may extend beyond own area of knowledge and expertise
  • Ability to influence others and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in customer facing solutions architecture
  • Commercially aware, managing costs on own projects and across team and very large projects
  • Ability to lead a team on a project basis
  • Member of Senior DSM community may be requested to deputise for and support member of Lead DSM community
  • Acts as a facilitator and mentor to more junior members of team and others within the organisation.

Salary

Minimum monthly salary is 2150 € brutto + variable part of salary + other financial benefits. The final basic wage component can be adjusted accordingly to individual skills and experience of selected candidate.
