General description

Responsible for the conceptual design, architecture and the technical solution using multiple technologies and corresponding vendors. Guarantees realization, implementation and functionality of the developed solution. The role includes consultancy for potential customer in presales period, analysis of customer demands, conversion of the requirements into a technical specification, evaluation of production costs. Additionally steers the international team of experts in order to deliver solution and to define the SLA’s specifications including the transition and transformation phase to handover solution to support/operational delivery units.

 

Accountabilities

  • Planning, design and development of the efficient, high available and secure VCF based private and hybrid Cloud Platform of T-Systems based on market trends and customer demands by using agile method in close collaboration with the engineering and the operations team (DevOps):
    • Development of end-2-end designs of the architecture of the hybrid cloud platform
    • Planning of new product features of hybrid cloud platform based on vendor roadmaps and customer demands
    • Create and implement technical concepts for server / storage / network virtualization for the Private Cloud platform in agile collaboration with the engineering and operations teams
    • Build of prototypes and conduct Proof-Of-Concepts
    • Create decision papers and act as management interface for further platform evolution
  • Build and develop concepts, processes and methods for automation, optimization and standardization to satisfy T-Systems efficiency and automation requirements
  • Responsible for strategy, implementation methods and technical procedures for migrations in order to deliver complex solutions and environments
  • Determine how systems and technologies should change in the future, migrating to an environment which would optimally support the current and future product model in a cost effective manner
  • Work with vendor on correcting critical product defects. Propose and present the T-Systems interest in the future development of the product
  • Develop new concepts and products including roadmaps for the future of the product, covering the applications as well as the technologies in the infrastructure considering market trends
  • Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions to assure integrity of the architecture
  • Act as key technical lead to solve and coordinate activities across related technologies in/outside own team, steer international teams as participants on the projects
  • Contribute to the technical handover to the respective technical next level or next project phase
  • Provide project deliverables in order to fulfill the project scope, take responsibility for outlining deadlines for service delivery staff
  • Provide a framework for knowledge sharing and training of developers and operations 
     

Management scope

  • Serve as point of escalation, review, and approval for architecture issues
  • Manage team consisting of internal resources, external suppliers and vendors up to 15 people
  • Manage the conception, planning and implementation of the contractually agreed services results
  • Lead technical workshop with customer to gather parameters required for migration

 

Requirements

Education/ Certifications

  • Master´s degree in Information Technology
  • Field specific profesional certification exam; advantage is project mngt certification; recommended process metodology certification

 

Experience

  • 6 years of experience within the Information technologies

 

Languages

  • Excellent English skills (written and verbal, CEF-Level B2/ C1) 
  • German- advantage

 

IT Technical Skills

  • Min. 10 year experience in designing and implementing efficient, high available and secure VMWare VCF based private or hybrid cloud platforms
  • Expert level in VMWare VCF product stack, network and storage virtualization, automation and data center security 
  • Experience in the design, configuration and administration of VMWare VCF environments 
  • Broad technical knowledge and experience of the data center and its components such as Storage, Network, Server and projects surrounding their planning, design, implementation, operation, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of IaaS and Application Workloads in context of Data Center Architecture design. Network / Infrastructure Security technologies (Firewall, access control, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, administrative access control) and Compliance (PCI, SOx, HIPAA).
  • General knowledge in emerging private, hybrid and public cloud architecture and technologies such as Container-as-a-Service.
  • Experience in Storage technologies file (NAS), block (SAN), object storage, transport (FCoE, iSCSI, etc), replication, backup, and performance.
  • Programmatic control of infrastructure elements (data model, API), integration frameworks and technologies.
  • Good knowledge in agile development methodologies and experience in DevOps models for cloud platforms (tools like Ansible, understanding of CI/CD Pipeline, CT) 
  • Experience with modern collaboration tools in an agile environment (e.g. GitHub, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Very good ITIL skills, i.e. in Incident- and Problem management

  • Software Defined Data Center and Networking / Storage / Cloud
  • Exemplary Cloud skills
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) on either/ all of DCV / NV / CMA and advance certification 
  • Profound experience in designing end to end large and complex private cloud solutions, ideally for service providers

Salary

Minimum monthly salary is 2300 € brutto + variable part of salary + other financial benefits. The final basic wage component can be adjusted accordingly to individual skills and experience of selected candidate.
